Kadambari Hibiscus Flower Herbal Tea is made from whole dried hibiscus flowers (the calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa, also called roselle). Steep them in hot water and you get a ruby-red cup with a bright, tart taste, a little like cranberry. It is naturally caffeine free, with no added sugar, colour or flavour.
What it tastes like
Tart and fruity. Drink it as it is, add a spoon of raw forest honey to soften it, or serve it iced on a warm afternoon.
How to make hibiscus tea
- Add one teaspoon of dried hibiscus to a cup (about 250 ml).
- Pour over hot water, just off the boil.
- Steep for 5 to 8 minutes, then strain.
- For iced hibiscus tea, brew it double strength, let it cool and pour over ice. For cold brew, steep in cold water in the fridge for about 8 hours.
Ideas to try
- With a cinnamon stick for a warm, spiced cup
- With a few rose petals for a floral note
- Mixed half and half with green tea
- Alongside our butterfly pea flower tea, or get both in the Daily Detox Combo
